On Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7, the Mehlville School District (MSD) and Discovery Education will collaborate to host the STEM Symposium. During this immersive, invite-only, two-day, professional development event, education thought-leaders from across the region will gather at Mehlville High School to examine new strategies for transforming teaching and learning through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

Educators and school administrators participating in this unique event will explore best practices for creating a culture of STEM education in their own school system and discuss how best to cultivate the inquiry-based, transdisciplinary instruction that prepares the students they serve for success beyond the classroom.  Mehlville School District is currently in the midst of a multi-year initiative that is creating dynamic, digital STEM teaching and learning environments across the school system through a unique combination of digital content and job-embedded professional development.

Discovery Education is the leading provider of digital curriculum resources, digital content, and professional development for K-12 classrooms, and is inspired by Discovery Inc., whose networks include Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel.  Discovery Education is a longtime Mehlville School District partner that has provided district educators the digital curriculum, content, and professional development services they need to create dynamic learning environments that support the success of all learners.

The Mehlville School District strictly prohibits discrimination and harassment against employees, students or others on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, or sex including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity and other characteristics protected by law.
