Candidate Filing Dates

Any person wishing to file for the Mehlville School District Board of Education may do so at the St. Louis County Board of Elections, 725 Northwest Plaza Drive, St. Ann, MO 63074. Filing will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024, through Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

Filing is held during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the office will close at 5 p.m. The office will be closed on Wednesday, December 25. Please check the county website for any additional dates the office may be closed.

An election for two seats on the board will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Both seats carry a three-year term. 

Any person interested in serving on the Mehlville School District R-9 School Board of Education will meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be a resident taxpayer of the Mehlville School District.
  • Have resided in Missouri for a minimum of one (1) year preceding their election.
  • Be at least 24 years of age.
  • Must not be delinquent in the payment of state income taxes, personal property taxes or real property taxes on their place of residence. If an applicant is a past or present corporate officer of any fee office, that office cannot be delinquent in the payment of any taxes owed the state.
  • Have not been found guilty of nor pled guilty to a felony under the federal laws of the United States of America or to a felony under Missouri law or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony in Missouri.
  • Not be registered or required to be registered as a sex offender.
  • Have filed, or the treasurer of an existing candidate committee has filed, all required campaign disclosure reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission, when applicable for all previous elections in which they were candidates.

Under the provisions of Missouri Statute Section 115.124, if the number of candidates who file is equal to the number of positions to be filled by the election (two), no election will be held. However, if the number of candidates filing exceeds the number of positions at any time during the filing window, the annual school board election will be held on April 8, 2025. Candidates will be listed on the ballot based on a lottery drawing conducted by the St. Louis County Board of Elections.
