The Legislative Calendar
December 1, 2023 – Bills can start being pre-filed before the 2024 Legislative Session begins.
January 3, 2024 (First Wednesday in January) – Legislative Session begins for 2024.
January 15, 2024 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) – Legislature not in session.
March 1, 2024 – Deadline for filing 2024 Legislative Session bills.
March 18-22, 2024 – Spring Break week.
April 1, 2024 (Easter Break) – Legislature not in session.
May 10, 2024 (Second Friday in May) – State budget must be approved by 6 p.m. CDT, as state law requires to be completed by that date and time.
May 17, 2024 (Third Friday in May) – Legislative Session ends at 6 p.m. CDT.
September 11, 2024 (Second Wednesday in September) – First day of the 2024 Veto Session, if needed.
