Mehlville School District students had the opportunity to perform with professional musicians on Saturday, March 16, at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.
Eight students from both Mehlville and Oakville high schools performed as members of the Music City Hit-Makers' classical instrument ensemble. The students performed "Stealing Cinderella," "From the Ground Up," "Ready to Run," and "Kick the Dust Up."
"The songwriters were so happy to have local kids playing their music," said Amy Meschke, orchestra director for Mehlville High, Oakville High and Margaret Buerkle Middle School, and district strings coordinator. "The performance provided our students with a glimpse of what it is like to work as a musician for groups like this and also what it's like to work in the arts."
