The Mehlville Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Greg Ruzicka as the Mehlville School District Science Director for the 2022-2023 school year.
“We are excited to add Mr. Ruzicka to the curriculum team. He brings significant science experience as well as leadership capability to the position,” said Dr. Brian Smith, Assistant Superintendent, Teaching and Learning. “His goal reflects the district’s goal: to make science engaging for all students and to help students achieve at a high level. Mr. Ruzicka is a leader who values collaboration. His knowledge of Mehlville School District will help our teachers from pre-kindergarten through high school.”
Ruzicka is currently an assistant principal at Mehlville High School. In this role, he’s provided leadership for science, technology, Project Lead the Way, art and world language for the past seven years. Prior to his administrative work at Mehlville High School, Ruzicka taught science and social studies at Oakville Middle School for 13 years and served as a science department head. He has a Bachelor of Science from Harris Stowe University and a master’s degree in K-12 administration from Southeast Missouri State. He’s also earned an Educational Specialist certification from Lindenwood University in Administration.
“I am excited for the opportunity to share my passion for science with the district’s teachers and students,” Ruzicka said. "I can’t wait to shape experiential science learning here at Mehlville School District.”
