Board approves the hiring of elementary assistant principal

Welcome-Dr-Gatzemeyer.pngThe Mehlville Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Dr. Samantha Gatzemeyer as assistant principal at Blades Elementary School and Hagemann Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Dr. GatzemeyerDr. Gatzemeyer has taught in Lindbergh School District for the past 13 years. She is currently a third-grade teacher at Dressel Elementary School. She serves as an administrator in charge when building principals are away and has served on numerous school and district committees.

“Dr. Gatzemeyer stood out as someone who has a strong educational background and a love for students,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeff Haug. “Her experience and training, especially in educational support processes and systems, will be an asset to our district. I could not be happier that Dr. Gatzemeyer is joining our already amazing team of administrators.”

Dr. Gatzemeyer has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in curriculum and assessment from University of Missouri - Columbia. She holds a master's in administration and a doctorate in administration and school leadership from Maryville University.

Dr. Gatzemeyer will begin serving as assistant principal on July 1, 2024.
