Pay it Forward Meal Account Donation

You can now make donations to help Mehlville School District families pay off unpaid student meal charges.

Mehlville School District currently has outstanding balances across all schools. The Pay it Forward (PIF) program was started to help our families pay some of those outstanding fees.

Director of School Food and Nutrition Services Katie Gegg attributes some of the outstanding fees to changes made to the USDA eligibility guidelines for free and reduced price meals. Some families who qualified in previous school years, did not qualify again this year.

“Some of our families don’t qualify for free or reduced price meals by a very slim amount,” Gegg said. “These families struggle to keep their student’s meal accounts current.”

Pay it Forward allows people to make donations online to help these families with the cost of meals. School principals, counselors and social workers will determine how to allocate funds as they are aware of families in need. Donations can be made to a specific school or the district in general. Click here to make a donation.
