Each school in Mehlville School District is staffed with at least one school nurse. Nurses play a critical role in keeping our students healthy and ensuring the safety of our students and staff. School nurses provide first aid, dispense prescribed and over-the-counter medications as directed by a student’s physician, and encourage student well-being through a variety of activities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mehlville nurses will be following the recommendations of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Washington University’s Pediatric Student Symptom decision tree. All students should be COVID-screened at home using our symptom checker. However, if a student presents to the health room with any of the symptoms listed below, the following steps will be followed in regards to sending students/staff home after the nurse assessment.
