MOSAIC Kindergarten StudentsMOSAIC is hosting an information night for parents interested in applying for the school’s kindergarten program in the 2020-2021 school year.

The information night is Monday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. at MOSAIC Elementary (3701 Will Ave.). Parents will receive more information about the unique learning experience that allows for more student choice and personalized learning.

“The biggest concept of MOSAIC is that we’re providing a learning experience for the child everyday based off their passions, interests and pace of learning, so it’s personalized for that student,” Principal Scott Clark said.

Teachers use a variety of tools and strategies, including learning menus, technology and blended learning to explore the curriculum and provide opportunities in tune with each student’s academic and social needs.

Mandy Meilinger has two students at MOSAIC and says she has noticed a difference in each of her children.

“I thought the concept of self-guided and project-based learning was really exciting,” Meilinger said. “Previously my children had seemed very shy and reserved and quiet. Going to school here has really brought out their personalities. I see confidence in them. Leadership qualities are coming out.”

Parents wishing to apply for the MOSAIC Elementary School lottery will be able to do so during the online application process Jan. 6-31. The lottery will take place in February, and parents will be notified of acceptance by March 1. Students who apply for MOSAIC still must enroll at their home elementary school.
