There is a level of importance to expose and prepare students for taking a college or career level assessment. These assessments highlight the skills and knowledge needed to be successful at the next level, whether that be at a college, community college, technical school, military or the workforce. The district utilizes various assessments to ensure that students have access to assessments that are appropriate to them. These assessments include the following:
- Accuplacer: administered by the College Board, ACCUPLACER helps colleges and workforce training providers gauge student readiness for required coursework and identify areas where students may need additional support to succeed.
- ACT: The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. It is administered by ACT, a nonprofit organization of the same name. The ACT test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and scientific reasoning. It also offers an optional direct writing test.
- ACT WorkKeys: The ACT WorkKeys assessment measures foundational skills required for success in the workplace and helps measure the workplace skills that can affect job performance.
- ASVAB: The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.
- SAT: The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States.
